Hello Friend1,
So let me tell you what I had in mind.
This is my first ever newsletter, so I am a little nervous and excited, but in a good way.
I am flush with ideas on how to approach this newsletter situation.
Apart from writing some usual Italy/Sicily content, I like the idea of sending some completely new thoughts or ideas I have written with you in mind. I know. How exclusive does that sound?
So some posts will be titled Postcards from Sicily while others will be called A load off my mind. Depending on what exciting things I have discovered for you.
How does that sound…
I promise you; however, the post is titled, it will be something written by me for you.
That is what you signed up for, isn't it.
Ok then, I can't wait to get started.
Thanks for subscribing and be sure to send this to a friend or someone who you think might enjoy this.
Speak again soon.
With love from Sicily

I took this photo at Messina a few summers ago. It is of the entrance to the main port of the city with a massive golden statue of the Madonna which welcomes visitors with a special blessing. At the base of the statue are the words, Vos et ipsam Civitatem benedicius (blessings to you and your city) which is a blessing written by Mary in a letter she wrote to the city after a delegation from Messina went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land to meet her.
